Weather

Below are some weather facts collected from historical data. However, weather is variable and none of the below is guaranteed. Temperatures do not vary much throughout the year, they hover around 24 degrees (75°F) year-round. It cools down significantly overnight, so be sure to layer up and pack warmer clothes for your visit.

· Monteverde offers dry weather in January, February and March. January is typically the coldest month with an average maximum temperature of 31°C (88°F), February is usually the driest month, and March is traditionally the sunniest month.

​

· The warmest month is April with an average maximum temperature of 34 degrees Celsius, or 94 degrees Fahrenheit. Due to our location in the cloud forest, the evenings do cool off considerably.

​

· During November to March there are high winds in the area, but that will not inhibit you from enjoying all of the area activities.

​

· Don't worry about the fact that there is no AC: in our mild climate, it definitely isn't needed!

​

Meals

· While we are unable to provide meals for our guests, each lodge has a small kitchen area including a small fridge, microwave, and cups, plates utensils, etc, allowing you to stock up on all your necessities.

​

· There are two groceries stores located in Santa Elena, just a short distance from our Lodges.

​

· Each room has a coffee maker and we provide a bag of complimentary local coffee which is considered the best in the area.

​

· There are several restaurants close by for your dining needs, including one a mere 350 meters from our lodges, and several in the town of Santa Elena. We will fill you in on all your dining options when you arrive.

​

Children

· We do not provide Baby Cribs or extra beds in the rooms.

· Only children over 8 years old are allowed.

​

Schedule

· Our reception is open from 7 am until 9 pm to allow for flexibility in your check-in time. Please confirm your arrival time with us when you make your reservation and we will do our best to ensure your room is ready for you. Late arrivals after 9 pm cannot be accommodated.

​

Insects

· We are located in one of the world's most famous Cloud forests in the world, so, please come prepared to deal with insects. We can almost guarantee, though, that you will not see one mosquito here unless you bring it with you in your suitcase!

· We suggest you to keep all windows and doors closed at night time.

Additional Information

​

· We have two dogs in the hotel, they are part of our Lodge Family.

· Unpaved roads and unpaved driveways mean that four-wheel drive vehicles are the best for navigating the area.

· The winds can be strong in our area. Earplugs might be a good idea for light sleepers.

· For your comfort, we recommend you bring slippers to wear in the lodges.
